Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bushen Qiangdu Sanhan granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Shanghai Guanghua Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), particularly for patients presenting with Kidney deficiency and Cold-Dampness obstruction patterns. The formula aims to tonify the Kidney, strengthen the Du meridian, and dispel cold and dampness. Pharmacologically, it has been shown to exert anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, potentially by regulating the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-17, and modulating bone metabolism pathways like the Wnt/β-catenin and RANKL/OPG systems to inhibit syndesmophyte formation and bone erosion. It is also reported to modulate the Th17/Treg immune balance and inhibit the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.
