Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of three agents:\n- **Carboplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic that induces DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells.\n- **Paclitaxel** (Taxol) is a microtubule-stabilizing agent that inhibits cell division by preventing microtubule depolymerization.\n- **ISIS 183750** is an antisense oligonucleotide targeting insulin-like growth factor type I receptor (IGF1R) mRNA to reduce its expression. \nThe combination of carboplatin and paclitaxel is widely used for the treatment of various solid tumors including ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, carcinoma of unknown primary origin, thymoma or thymic carcinoma[1][3][5]. The addition of ISIS 183750 aims to enhance antitumor activity by inhibiting IGF1R-mediated signaling pathways involved in tumor growth and survival.
