CD19-20 CAR T-cell therapy is an advanced form of adoptive cell immunotherapy that involves genetically engineering a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR). This CAR is designed to simultaneously recognize and bind to two distinct antigens, CD19 and CD20, which are commonly expressed on the surface of malignant B cells. The dual-targeting approach aims to enhance the therapeutic efficacy and overcome potential antigen escape mechanisms that can lead to relapse in single-target CAR T-cell therapies. Once infused back into the patient, these modified T cells proliferate and specifically target and eliminate cancer cells expressing either or both CD19 and CD20, making it a promising treatment strategy for various B-cell hematologic malignancies.
