Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination cellular immunotherapy consisting of separate chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) products targeting CD19, CD22, and CD20 antigens. Each component—CD19 CAR-T, CD22 CAR-T, and CD20 CAR-T—is an autologous (or sometimes allogeneic) T cell therapy genetically engineered to express a CAR specific for one of the respective B cell surface antigens. These therapies aim to eradicate malignant B cells in hematological malignancies by harnessing the patient’s own or donor’s immune cells and redirecting them to recognize and kill B cells expressing CD19, CD22, and CD20. The use of multiple CAR-T cell products in combination seeks to overcome resistance and antigen loss seen with single-target treatments, potentially leading to deeper responses and reduced relapse risk by targeting multiple B-cell lineage markers simultaneously. Combination therapy with all three is investigational and is being assessed in early clinical research, especially for patients with relapsed or refractory B cell hematological malignancies.[1][3][5]
