CD20-CD19 cCAR T cells is an investigational compound Chimeric Antigen Receptor (cCAR) T-cell therapy developed by iCell Gene Therapeutics. Unlike traditional tandem CARs, this "compound" CAR design involves the expression of two distinct, fully functional CAR molecules on the surface of a single T-cell, independently targeting the CD19 and CD20 antigens. This dual-targeting approach is designed to prevent antigen escape, a common cause of relapse in single-target CAR-T therapies, by ensuring that the T-cell remains effective even if the tumor cell loses expression of one of the targets. The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for relapsed or refractory B-cell malignancies, including B-cell lymphoma and B-cell leukemia.
