Cefotaxime + gamma globulin is a combination therapy consisting of cefotaxime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and gamma globulin (intravenous immunoglobulin, IVIG). Cefotaxime acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through high affinity binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), resulting in bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
