Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: - **Ceftriaxone** is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell lysis and death. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, meningitis, intra-abdominal infections, bone and joint infections, sepsis, and as surgical prophylaxis[1][2][4][5][6]. - **Methylprednisolone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It acts by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor and modulating gene expression to suppress inflammation. - **Metronidazole** is an antimicrobial agent effective against anaerobic bacteria and certain protozoa. It works primarily by disrupting DNA synthesis in susceptible organisms. This combination may be used in clinical settings where broad-spectrum antibacterial coverage (including anaerobes) along with anti-inflammatory effects are required—such as severe intra-abdominal or pelvic infections or other complex infectious/inflammatory conditions.
