Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Circular human interleukin-10 RNA (circ hIL-10 RNA) is a closed-loop RNA therapeutic designed to express human interleukin-10 (hIL-10), a key anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory cytokine. Formulated within lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) containing the ionizable lipid ST-1 and DOTAP, this circular RNA is resistant to exonuclease degradation, enabling more prolonged and sustained protein expression compared to linear mRNA. It is being investigated for gene therapy in donor lungs during ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) to mitigate ischemia-reperfusion injury and harmful immune responses during the acute post-lung transplant (LTx) phase.
