Overview

This is a combination of three pharmaceutical drugs—clonazepam, gabapentin, and methylprednisolone.

  • Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine used primarily for seizure disorders (such as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, absence seizures, myoclonic seizures) and panic disorder. It acts by enhancing the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at GABA(a) receptors in the central nervous system, leading to increased neuronal inhibition and resulting in anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant effects.
  • Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant/antiepileptic drug also used for neuropathic pain. Its mechanism involves binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the CNS, reducing excitatory neurotransmitter release. Gabapentin does not significantly induce or inhibit hepatic enzymes and has minimal pharmacokinetic interactions with other antiepileptics.
  • Methylprednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It works by modulating gene expression after binding to glucocorticoid receptors; this leads to decreased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators.

There are no fixed-dose combination products containing all three agents; their co-administration would be off-label or based on specific clinical needs.
