Overview

CTA-002 (CTA-02) is an ex vivo "Armed-T" cell therapy developed by CytoArm for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer, specifically targeting tumors expressing the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Unlike traditional CAR-T therapies, CTA-002 uses CytoArm's proprietary platform to arm patient-derived T cells with an anti-EGFR/anti-CD3 bispecific antibody (BsAb) without the need for genetic engineering or viral gene delivery. This approach allows for a significantly shorter manufacturing time (approximately 10 days) and high product purity (over 90%) while minimizing safety risks such as insertional mutagenesis. The therapy is designed to redirect T-cell cytotoxicity against EGFR-positive cancer cells and has shown efficacy in cell lines regardless of downstream KRAS, NRAS, or BRAF mutation status.
