Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cy5.5-rituximab is a fluorescently labeled derivative of rituximab, where the anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody rituximab is conjugated to Cy5.5, a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence dye with an absorbance maximum at 675 nm[7]. This imaging agent has demonstrated good accumulation in lymphoma tumor cells in nude mice[7]. The conjugation of Cy5.5 to rituximab enables optical imaging and detection of CD20-positive B-cell malignancies while maintaining the targeting properties of the parent antibody. This is a research tool or diagnostic imaging agent rather than a therapeutic drug, used for visualizing and tracking CD20-positive cells in preclinical and potentially clinical imaging applications.
