Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danzhi Jiangtang Capsule (DJC) is a traditional Chinese medicinal formula used clinically for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), diabetic nephropathy, and related metabolic disorders. The formulation consists of several herbal ingredients including cortex moutan (Moutan bark), heterophylly falsestarwort root (Pseudostellaria heterophylla), unprocessed rehmannia root (Rehmannia glutinosa), oriental waterplantain rhizome (Alisma orientale), dodder seed (Cuscuta chinensis), and leech. DJC has demonstrated efficacy in improving renal function in diabetic nephropathy by inhibiting the JAK2-STAT1/STAT3-SOCS3 signaling pathway, reducing oxidative stress, and lowering inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNF-α, and MCP-1. It also exhibits anti-hyperlipidemic effects by regulating free fatty acid levels and improving lipid metabolism. Clinical studies indicate that DJC can improve physiological indicators associated with diabetes and vascular endothelial function[1][2][3][4][5].
