Overview

dexamethasone + cytarabine + rituximab + thiotepa is a combination chemotherapy regimen, sometimes considered for aggressive lymphomas, CNS lymphomas, or as conditioning before stem cell transplantation. - **Dexamethasone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that acts primarily as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant. - **Cytarabine** is a nucleoside analog that interferes with DNA synthesis, effective against rapidly dividing cells. - **Rituximab** is a monoclonal antibody against CD20, leading to depletion of B lymphocytes. - **Thiotepa** is an alkylating agent, damaging DNA to prevent cell division. While each drug has individual indications (e.g., dexamethasone for inflammation, cytarabine for leukemias, rituximab for CD20+ lymphomas, thiotepa for various malignancies and transplant conditioning), the combination may be used for high-risk hematologic malignancies including CNS lymphoma and as a conditioning regimen for bone marrow transplantation. This combination does not have a single established brand name and is not a marketed fixed-dose product, but represents the concurrent use of these agents for multi-modal cytotoxic and immunosuppressive therapy[2][4][6][10].
