Dexorange

Dexorange is an oral hematinic supplement developed by Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals, primarily used for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia and associated nutritional deficiencies. The formulation is a combination product containing ferric ammonium citrate (providing elemental iron), folic acid (Vitamin B9), cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12), and zinc sulfate. Its primary mechanism of action involves the replenishment of systemic iron stores to facilitate hemoglobin synthesis and the formation of red blood cells. Additionally, folic acid and cyanocobalamin are included to support DNA synthesis and the maturation of red blood cells, while zinc serves as a cofactor to support the process of erythropoiesis. Dexorange is widely utilized in India for managing anemia related to pregnancy, lactation, chronic blood loss, and hookworm infestations.
