Overview

This is a hypothetical or unapproved combination drug consisting of three active ingredients: - **Dimethyl fumarate** is an oral small molecule immunomodulator primarily used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis. It works by activating the nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 (Nrf2) pathway, reducing oxidative stress and inflammation in the central nervous system[7]. - **Loperamide** is a peripherally acting μ-opioid receptor agonist that slows intestinal motility, thereby reducing diarrhea. It does not cross the blood-brain barrier at therapeutic doses and has no significant central nervous system effects[2][5][6]. - **Simethicone** is an anti-foaming agent that reduces bloating, discomfort, or pain caused by excessive gas in the gastrointestinal tract. It acts locally by causing gas bubbles to coalesce for easier passage and has no systemic absorption[5][6]. There are approved combination products containing loperamide and simethicone (e.g., Imodium Multi-Symptom Relief), but there are no known approved pharmaceutical products or clinical evidence supporting a triple combination with dimethyl fumarate.
