Overview

DRG-BD11 is a monoclonal antibody of the IgM isotype developed by Longhorn Vaccines and Diagnostics. It specifically targets peptidoglycan (PGN), a conserved structural component of the bacterial cell wall found in both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. As an IgM antibody, DRG-BD11 is designed to leverage the high avidity and potent complement-activating properties characteristic of the IgM class to promote the opsonization and clearance of bacterial pathogens and their cell wall fragments. The therapeutic is being developed for the treatment and prevention of severe bacterial infections in high-risk clinical settings, such as intensive care units (ICU) and surgical environments, where it aims to reduce the burden of bacterial components and mitigate the risk of sepsis.
