Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DS002 is a humanized recombinant monoclonal antibody targeting Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), developed by Dartsbio Pharmaceuticals (also known as Guangdong Dashi Pharmaceuticals). It is designed as a potent, non-addictive analgesic for the treatment of chronic pain and chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain. DS002 works by binding to NGF and blocking its interaction with the Tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA) receptor on nociceptors, thereby inhibiting pain signaling. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in rat models of peripheral neuropathy induced by paclitaxel, cisplatin, and vincristine. A Phase I clinical trial evaluating its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects has been completed in China, following IND approval by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).
