DW1025 is an investigational small molecule Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor being developed by Dongwha Pharmaceutical for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory diseases. By selectively inhibiting the JAK1 enzyme, the drug blocks the signaling pathways of various pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-4, IL-13, and IL-31, which are central to the pathogenesis of skin inflammation and pruritus. This targeted approach aims to provide therapeutic efficacy in atopic dermatitis while potentially reducing the systemic side effects associated with non-selective JAK inhibition. As of 2024, DW1025 is in Phase 1 clinical development to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics following oral administration.
