Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EB-CAR5-NK is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) natural killer (NK) cell therapy designed to target the CD5 antigen. Developed by Beijing Biotech (Biotech Pharmaceutical), it is currently being investigated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial for patients with relapsed or refractory B2 thymoma or thymic carcinoma. CD5 is a surface glycoprotein typically expressed on T cells and certain malignant cells, including those in thymic epithelial tumors. By utilizing allogeneic NK cells, EB-CAR5-NK aims to provide a potent, off-the-shelf therapeutic option that minimizes the risk of graft-versus-host disease while effectively inducing tumor cell death through CAR-mediated recognition and NK cell activation.
