Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EB-CARMSLN-NK is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) natural killer (NK) cell therapy targeting mesothelin (MSLN). Developed by Beijing Biotech (Biotech Pharmaceutical), it is being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B2 thymoma and thymic carcinoma. The therapy involves engineering NK cells to express a CAR specific to mesothelin, a cell surface glycoprotein often overexpressed in various solid tumors, including thymic malignancies. This allogeneic "off-the-shelf" approach aims to provide a more accessible and potentially safer alternative to autologous CAR-T cell therapies by utilizing donor-derived NK cells that are less likely to cause graft-versus-host disease or severe cytokine release syndrome.
