Overview

Dysplasix is an investigational intravaginal suppository containing a combination of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and quinine sulfate. Developed by Amplexd Therapeutics, it is designed to treat low-grade cervical lesions, including Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance (ASC-US) and Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions (LSIL), associated with high-risk human papillomavirus (hr-HPV) infection. EGCG, a polyphenol derived from green tea, is known for its anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic properties, specifically targeting the expression of HPV oncoproteins. Quinine sulfate is included in the formulation to potentially enhance the therapeutic effect. The combination is administered locally to induce regression of cervical abnormalities and facilitate the clearance of hr-HPV infection.
