ELC-001 is a next-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by Elicera Therapeutics for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, including B-cell lymphoma. It is the lead candidate utilizing the proprietary **iTANK** (immuno-Therapy Activated Non-specific Killer) platform. ELC-001 consists of autologous T-cells engineered to target the **CD20** antigen, a protein widely expressed on the surface of B-cell tumors. A distinguishing feature of ELC-001 is the inclusion of a transgene encoding a **neutrophil-activating protein (NAP)** derived from *Helicobacter pylori*. Upon binding to CD20-positive tumor cells, the CAR T-cells are activated and secrete NAP, which serves to recruit and activate the patient's own innate immune cells (such as neutrophils and dendritic cells). This mechanism is intended to induce a broad "bystander" immune response against other tumor-associated antigens, potentially overcoming the challenge of antigen loss and tumor heterogeneity that often leads to resistance in conventional CAR T-cell therapies.
