Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EP-0210 is a potent and highly selective small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1), currently under clinical development by Chengdu Youluo Biotechnology for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). By selectively targeting the JAK1 isoform, the drug aims to block the signaling of key pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), which are central to the pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. This selective approach is intended to improve the safety profile compared to pan-JAK inhibitors by reducing off-target effects related to JAK2 (e.g., erythropoiesis inhibition) and JAK3 (e.g., immune cell dysfunction). EP-0210 is administered orally and is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for moderate to severe active ulcerative colitis.
