GneX12

GneX12 is a therapeutic vaccine candidate developed by TherapyX for the treatment of gonorrhea. It utilizes a microparticle-based delivery system, specifically poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), to provide sustained release of Interleukin-12 (IL-12). IL-12 is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine that promotes the differentiation of T cells into Th1 cells and activates natural killer (NK) cells, which are critical for an effective immune response against *Neisseria gonorrhoeae*. By delivering IL-12 directly to the site of infection, GneX12 aims to reverse the immune suppression typically induced by the pathogen and facilitate bacterial clearance. The candidate is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development.
