Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Guduchi Ghana Vati (also known as Samsamani Vati or Giloy Ghan Vati) is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal formulation prepared from the concentrated aqueous extract (Ghana) of the stem of Guduchi (*Tinospora cordifolia*). It is widely utilized in Ayurvedic medicine as a potent Rasayana (rejuvenative), immunomodulator, and antipyretic. The formulation is rich in bioactive phytochemicals, including alkaloids (such as berberine), diterpenoid lactones (such as tinosporide), and polysaccharides, which contribute to its therapeutic properties. Guduchi Ghana Vati is primarily indicated for boosting immunity, managing recurrent fevers (including chronic febrile conditions), supporting liver health and detoxification, and managing metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes mellitus (Madhumeha). It is manufactured and distributed by several leading Ayurvedic pharmaceutical companies in India, including Patanjali, Dabur, Baidyanath, Zandu, and Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, and has been widely distributed by the Ministry of AYUSH as a prophylactic remedy for infections.
