HB-700 is an investigational arenaviral immunotherapy developed to treat cancers harboring KRAS mutations, specifically targeting the five most common KRAS mutations (G12D, G12V, G12R, G12C, and G13D) found in lung, colorectal, pancreatic, and other cancers. The therapy utilizes a replicating 2-vector arenavirus platform designed to induce potent antigen-specific CD8+ T cell responses against tumor cells expressing these KRAS mutations. Unlike single-mutation inhibitors that target only one variant of mutant KRAS protein, HB-700 aims to address multiple prevalent mutations simultaneously within a single product candidate. Preclinical data have demonstrated safety as well as induction of target-specific CD8+ T-cells and effective target cell killing in animal and translational models. The drug is currently Phase 1-ready following FDA clearance of its Investigational New Drug (IND) application in April 2024[1][4][6][7].
