Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huyang Yangkun Formula (HYF) is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation developed based on Yin and Yang principles and clinical experience. It has been used for decades to treat Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and enhance reproductive function. Preclinical studies demonstrate that HYF improves ovarian function, delays reproductive aging, restores damaged ovarian tissue via anti-apoptotic mechanisms, and regulates the estrous cycle and follicle development. Mechanistically, it acts by influencing hypothalamic GnRH/LH pulse release through modulation of GAT-1/GABA/GABAAR2 signaling as well as acting on GnRH and kisspeptin neurons. Additionally, it repairs ovarian dysfunction in POI models via the Hippo-JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway[1][2][4][6][8]. The formula is composed of multiple herbal ingredients (exact composition not specified in available sources).
