Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of hydrocortisone, a glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory properties, and infliximab, a monoclonal antibody targeting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). This combination is primarily used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with hydrocortisone often serving as a premedication for infliximab infusions to reduce the risk of antibody formation and infusion-related reactions. The combination has synergistic immunosuppressive effects but may increase the risk of opportunistic infections.
