Overview

IBI305 is a biosimilar of bevacizumab, developed as a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). By binding to VEGF-A, it prevents the interaction between VEGF and its receptors on the surface of endothelial cells, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), which is essential for tumor growth and metastasis. IBI305 has demonstrated high similarity in structure, pharmacokinetics, efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity compared to reference bevacizumab. It is approved in China for use in combination therapy for advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), and unresectable or metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma as first-line treatment[1][2][6][7].
