Overview

This is a combination therapy used in the treatment of relapsed or refractory lymphoma, particularly B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It combines the radioimmunotherapeutic agent ibritumomab tiuxetan (Zevalin), the monoclonal antibody rituximab, and the chemotherapy agents carmustine, etoposide, cytarabine, and melphalan (collectively known as BEAM). This regimen is typically used as a conditioning regimen before autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation. The combination of rituximab with BEAM is known as R-BEAM, while the combination of ibritumomab tiuxetan with BEAM is known as B-BEAM.
