Overview

IC 265 is a potent and selective small-molecule inhibitor of Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (Syk) currently under development by Iacta Pharmaceuticals for various ophthalmic conditions. Syk is a non-receptor cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase that plays a pivotal role in the signaling pathways of immune receptors, including B-cell receptors and Fc receptors, making it a critical mediator of inflammatory responses. By inhibiting Syk, IC 265 acts as a broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory agent, reducing the recruitment and activation of inflammatory cells in the eye. The drug is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of dry eye disease (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), where it has demonstrated the ability to reduce inflammation and ocular redness in Phase 2 clinical trials. It is also being investigated for allergic conjunctivitis and uveitis. Iacta has licensed the exclusive rights for ophthalmic indications of IC 265 in China and Southeast Asia to Zhaoke Ophthalmology.
