Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IFN-Influenza is a preclinical-stage interferon-integrated vaccine being developed by Canthevac, a spin-off from the Centre for Virology, Vaccinology, and Therapeutics (CVVT) and The University of Hong Kong. Built on Canthevac's proprietary Interferon-integrated Vaccine Platform (IVP), the vaccine incorporates interferon activity directly into the vaccine construct targeting the influenza virus. This platform is designed to generate live-attenuated vaccines that trigger the release of interferon upon infecting respiratory epithelial cells, thereby activating antiviral defenses in neighboring cells and boosting mucosal T-cell and B-cell immunity. The vaccine is intended for intranasal administration to provide broad protection against influenza infections.
