Overview
Invobenitug (procizumab) is a first-in-class humanized monoclonal antibody developed by 4TEEN4 Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of cardiogenic shock. It selectively neutralizes circulating dipeptidyl peptidase 3 (cDPP3), an intracellular enzyme released into the bloodstream during tissue injury and cell death. Elevated cDPP3 levels degrade angiotensin II and other peptides, disrupting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and leading to cardiovascular collapse and organ failure. By blocking cDPP3 activity, invobenitug restores RAAS balance, stabilizes cardiovascular function, and protects vital organs. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for patients with cardiogenic shock who exhibit elevated cDPP3 levels.
