Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IsoNAP is a novel peptide analog of NAP (davunetide) designed to enhance β-sheet breaker characteristics. This modification involves the replacement of proline residues with alpha-aminoisobutyric acid, aiming to reduce protein misfolding. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that IsoNAP protects neurons against amyloid beta (1-42) toxicity, inhibits the aggregation of tau-derived peptides, and safeguards cognitive functions in models of activity-dependent neuroprotective protein (ADNP) deficiency. Its mechanism of action focuses on neuroprotection and reducing tau pathology, making it of interest for conditions like Alzheimer's disease.
