Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiawei Guizhi Longgu Oyster decoction is a modified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation based on the classic 'Guizhi Gancao Longgu Muli Tang'. It is being developed by Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for the treatment of cancer-related insomnia (CRI). The decoction typically contains core ingredients such as Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Fossilia Ossis Mastodi (Longgu), and Ostreae Concha (Muli), with additional herbs ('Jiawei') added to enhance its sedative and spirit-calming effects. In clinical trials, it is evaluated as an adjunctive therapy alongside standard hypnotic treatments to improve sleep quality and reduce the burden of persistent insomnia in adult patients with malignant tumors.
