Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jingyin Mixture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an oral liquid formulation primarily used for the treatment of viral respiratory diseases, including COVID-19. The mixture is composed of several herbal ingredients, notably Schizonepeta tenuifolia (Jingjie) and Lonicera japonica (Jinyinhua), which are traditionally used to clear heat, resolve the exterior, and detoxify. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was widely deployed in Shanghai as part of the standard TCM protocol for mild and moderate cases to prevent progression to severe disease. Clinical evaluation has focused on its ability to shorten viral shedding time and improve clinical symptoms such as fever and cough.
