Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JNJ-54781532 (formulation 1) is a specific oral tablet formulation of JNJ-54781532, a selective Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor developed by Janssen Research & Development. It was designed for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases, most notably rheumatoid arthritis and atopic dermatitis. By inhibiting JAK1, the drug interferes with the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, thereby reducing the production and activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6). In clinical development, Formulation 1 (consisting of 30 mg tablets) served as the reference formulation in pharmacokinetic studies comparing the bioavailability of different oral delivery formats, including higher-strength single-tablet versions (Formulation 2).
