Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KR23343 is an investigational small molecule inhibitor of the urate transporter 1 (URAT1), also known as SLC22A12, currently under development by Jiangxi Kvvit Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The drug is primarily intended for the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout. By selectively inhibiting URAT1 in the proximal tubules of the kidney, KR23343 blocks the reabsorption of uric acid from the urine back into the bloodstream, thereby promoting uric acid excretion and reducing serum urate levels. As of early 2024, it is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
