**LAM-Ce6** is an experimental macrophage-targeted photoactivatable theranostic conjugate composed of the Dectin-1 ligand laminarin covalently linked to the near-infrared fluorescent photosensitizer chlorin e6. It is being investigated in atherosclerotic rabbit models as an intravascular imaging-guided phototherapy for inflamed, macrophage-rich atherosclerotic plaques. Laminarin targets Dectin-1-expressing macrophages, while laser activation of chlorin e6 generates local photodynamic effects that promote autophagy, macrophage apoptosis, MerTK-associated efferocytosis, inflammation resolution, and TGF-beta/CTGF-associated collagen-rich fibrotic plaque stabilization. LAM-Ce6 has been reported in preclinical studies using OCT-NIRF catheter imaging and has not been established as a clinical therapeutic product.
