LCAR-AIO T cells is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to treat relapsed or refractory neurological autoimmune diseases. Developed by Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the therapy utilizes T cells engineered to dual-target B-lymphocyte antigen CD19 and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). This dual-targeting strategy is intended to achieve comprehensive depletion of both B cells and plasma cells, thereby reducing the production of pathogenic autoantibodies that drive diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD), and myasthenia gravis (MG). The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in patients who have not responded to conventional immunosuppressive therapies.
