Overview
Long Chai Jiang Xue Fang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily developed for the treatment of H-type hypertension, a condition characterized by high blood pressure combined with elevated plasma homocysteine levels. The formula is typically indicated for patients presenting with the TCM pattern of "liver-fire hyperactivity." It is derived from classical TCM prescriptions, such as *Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Tang*, and aims to clear liver fire, calm the liver, and regulate blood pressure. Clinical research conducted in China suggests that the formula can effectively reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure while simultaneously lowering serum homocysteine levels, potentially reducing the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications associated with H-type hypertension. It is usually administered orally as a decoction or in granule form.
