Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Longchaijiangxue granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of BCR-ABL-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), including polycythemia vera (PV) and essential thrombocythemia (ET). The formulation is designed to clear heat, cool blood, and resolve stasis according to TCM principles. Pharmacologically, research indicates that Longchaijiangxue granules may exert its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the JAK2/STAT5 signaling pathway and reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), thereby suppressing the abnormal proliferation of hematopoietic cells. It is often used as an adjunctive or alternative therapy for patients who are intolerant to or have an inadequate response to standard cytoreductive treatments like hydroxyurea.
