Overview
LT-Flu is an intranasal, adjuvanted protein subunit vaccine developed by Advagene Biopharma for the prevention of seasonal influenza. It utilizes a proprietary detoxified heat-labile enterotoxin adjuvant, LTh(αK), derived from Escherichia coli, which is designed to enhance both mucosal and systemic immune responses. The vaccine contains trivalent influenza hemagglutinin (HA) antigens. By delivering these antigens directly to the nasal mucosa via a spray, LT-Flu aims to induce local secretory IgA and systemic IgG antibodies, providing a needle-free method to prevent respiratory infection. The vaccine has progressed through Phase 2 clinical trials and is reportedly in Phase 3 development.
