Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LUCAR-E9K is an investigational dual-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to simultaneously target the CD19 and CD20 antigens on B-cells. Developed by Beijing Lucon Biopharm, it is primarily intended for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). By engineering T-cells to express receptors for two distinct tumor-associated antigens, the therapy aims to mitigate the risk of antigen escape—a common mechanism of resistance in single-targeted CAR-T therapies where tumor cells downregulate a single target to evade immune detection. LUCAR-E9K is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary anti-tumor activity.
