Overview

MB-106 is an autologous, third-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD20 antigen, which is expressed on the surface of B-cells. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a CAR derived from a fully human anti-CD20 antibody fragment fused to signaling domains. This enables the modified T cells to recognize and kill malignant B-cells in diseases such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia. Developed by Mustang Bio in collaboration with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, MB-106 has demonstrated high response rates in relapsed or refractory indolent B-cell NHL and Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, including complete responses in some patients. The drug has received orphan drug designation from the FDA for Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia[2][4][5][8].
