MSP3 Biofusion is a second-generation malaria vaccine developed by Vac4All, designed to target the Merozoite Surface Protein 3 (MSP3) antigen on Plasmodium falciparum parasites during the blood stage of infection. As part of the ADAMVAX (antibody-dependent anti-malaria vaccines) platform, this biofusion protein vaccine is engineered to be 20-100 fold more potent at inducing correlates of protection compared to the first-generation MSP3-LSP vaccine. It works by eliciting antibodies that target the asexual, disease-causing stages of the parasite, providing protection against clinical malaria. The vaccine is currently in Phase 1/2b clinical development.
