A combination immunosuppressive therapy consisting of mycophenolate mofetil and voclosporin. Mycophenolate mofetil is a prodrug that converts to mycophenolic acid (MPA), which inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), preventing T-cell and B-cell proliferation. Voclosporin is a calcineurin inhibitor that forms a heterodimeric complex with cyclophilin A to inhibit calcineurin, a calcium-dependent phosphatase involved in cytokine generation and T-cell activation. This combination is primarily used for treating active lupus nephritis, with clinical trials showing superior efficacy compared to mycophenolate mofetil alone.
