N2103 is an orally administered small molecule Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor currently under development by Jiangsu Huiju Pharmaceutical. It is specifically designed to treat inflammatory bowel diseases, with a primary focus on ulcerative colitis. By selectively targeting the JAK1 isoform, N2103 aims to modulate the signaling of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), which play critical roles in the mucosal inflammation characteristic of ulcerative colitis. This selectivity is intended to provide robust anti-inflammatory efficacy while minimizing the adverse effects associated with the inhibition of other JAK family members, such as the hematological risks linked to JAK2 inhibition.
