Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NGoXIM** is an investigational intranasal prophylactic vaccine intended to prevent gonorrhea caused by *Neisseria gonorrhoeae*. Developed by Therapyx with Intravacc, it combines gonococcal outer-membrane vesicles containing bacterial surface antigens with sustained-release microspheres encapsulating recombinant human interleukin-12. The IL-12 component is intended to enhance mucosal and systemic Th1-biased immune responses to the gonococcal antigens. Preclinical mouse studies reported serum and mucosal anti-gonococcal antibody responses, increased interferon-gamma production by CD4-positive T cells, and resistance to challenge with diverse gonococcal strains following intranasal administration.
