Overview

NIMA is a preclinical small-molecule drug candidate developed by Sprint Bioscience that targets Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT). NNMT is an enzyme frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors, including glioblastoma, ovarian, breast, and colorectal cancers, where it contributes to tumor growth, metabolic reprogramming, and the establishment of an immunosuppressive microenvironment. By inhibiting NNMT, the NIMA program aims to disrupt these oncogenic processes and enhance the immune system's anti-tumor response. The program was identified using Sprint Bioscience's fragment-based drug discovery platform and was officially launched for partnering in June 2022.
